This rubber stamp is made based on the image of a lovely wall tile on Lautau Island, near a monastery opposite the Big Buddha statue. It has a distinctive Buddhist influence that is hard to miss, especially since the lotus is one of the most well-known symbols of Buddhism. As the roots of a lotus flower extend into the mud and the flower blossoms above the surface, the lotus is used to symbolize awakening and enlightenment.
